Subscribe to the email list
To join the e-group do the following -
Enter your email address in the box and click the "Subscribe" button. An email will be sent to the address entered and the following instruction displayed
- "Almost there!
In order to confirm your request to join Cobweb Orchestra, a confirmation message has been sent to the following address: <>
Please check your mailbox for this message. You must click on the link in the email message to confirm your subscription......"
On clicking the link in the email you've just received you are taken to another webpage where you have to fill in a box indicating what your interest is in Cobweb Orchestra and then click the "Apply to this group" button. The list owner then receives an email giving details of the person (with reason) applying to join the e-group and can now approve the membership. Once this is done the person will start to receive group emails. As a further security measure the first message a new member posts has also to be approved by a moderator before being sent to the other group members.
The above steps ensure that email addresses are valid and applications genuine. I'm sure we all receive enough spam without allowing the Cobwebs e-group as another source.

Tips and common problems
- A list members first message is moderated before posting to the list.
- Difference between "Reply" and "Reply to all"
- Only subscribed members can post to the list. Anyone can join the list, please follow the instructions above. If you believe you are already subscribed, your message may have been rejected because you are subscribed from one address but are posting from a different one. This is common if you have different addresses at home and work. To have your message accepted, please post from an address which is subscribed. If you wish to be able to post from more than one address, you will need to subscribe each address separately. If you do not wish to receive emails to each of these addresses, but still wish to be able to post from them (for example, you may not be allowed to read list mails at work, but still wish to be able to send a question to the list and then read the responses at home) then you can subscribe the extra addresses and then set them to nomail which will prevent them receiving emails - follow the link above for instructions.
