Tickets: £26.80, £20.45 (Cobweb members) - (a second “Friends” ticket will be issued free to existing Cobweb players) ***** Do you know someone who would enjoy knowing more about how an orchestra works or even being part of one for a day? If so, bring them along to the Sage, Gateshead AT NO EXTRA COST when you sign up for this day exploring works by Mozart. Here’s what’s on offer: We will be playing Mozart’s last great symphony no 41 “The Jupiter”. Your invited guest will be able to sit in on a session and find out how a piece is rehearsed and how it progresses towards performance. For people who are new to orchestral playing, there is an ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS session based on Mozart’s “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik”. Even if you do not already play an instrument, you will be able to borrow one from our instrument bank. For people who like to sing, there will be a chance to receive some choral tuition and then join in some choruses from Mozart’s “Requiem”. For those who do not wish to join in, but enjoy listening, there will be mini concerts throughout the day and a final informal presentation of all the pieces at the end of the day. |
