Cobweb Ensembles For Hire
The Cobweb Orchestra is completely open access, but it has among its membership many experienced players, some of whom perform in off-shoot groups that raise funds for the orchestra.
Cobweb Cabaret Ensemble
The Cobweb Cabaret Ensemble is a flexible group of around 10 to 17 players offering sophisticated entertainment for concerts, private functions and events. The Cabaret Ensemble plays a wide range of music to suit the occasion, from classical and jazz to popular and Latin American numbers, with much of the repertoire especially arranged or composed by Andy Jackson, who directs from the trumpet. The Cobweb Cabaret Ensemble also sometimes performs with the celebrated chanteuse Bridie Jackson.
Previous performances include a concert in Hall 2 at The Sage Gateshead and playing for the Friends of Alnwick Gardens and Beamish Museum, as well as delegates at the 2012 Making Music Conference in Cardiff. The National Trust commissioned the Cobweb Cabaret Ensemble to record Franz Lehar's Gold & Silver Waltz for a CD for visitors to Lyme Park in Cheshire.

Cobweb Baroque Ensemble
The Cobweb Baroque Ensemble is a group of predominantly, but not exclusively, string players who enjoy playing music from the 17th and early 18th centuries. Much of our repertoire is by Vivaldi, Corelli, Handel and Bach. We play as a large chamber group of between seven and twelve players, without a conductor, directed from the first violin. We play on modern instruments, but try to cultivate a clean "historically informed" sound. In addition, we use music editions that are either facsimiles of the original editions or at least avoid modern editorial interpretation. The Baroque Ensemble performs several concerts a year across the North-East and North-West, and are available to play at functions (weddings, etc.) and for organisations such as the University of the Third Age.

The Cobweb Orchestra
The Cobweb Orchestra itself has been booked for events. Specially formed small versions of The Cobweb Orchestra have performed at the Bishop Auckland Proms over a number of years. In addition to the BA Proms, the Cobweb Orchestra gave two other high-profile performances in 2012: on 18 July a group of Cobwebs wind players performed at the opening of a new section of the Tees Barrage in Stockton by Her Majesty The Queen. They played Andy Jackson's specially commissioned "White Water Music" for wind, brass and percussion, and also a range of other pieces to entertain the crowds while they were waiting for the Queen and Prince Philip to arrive. On 24th August 2012 a small group of players from the Cobweb Orchestra performed on the bandstand in The Town of Beamish Museum. This event was to celebrate the arrival of a splinter from the English Flame, which was on its way to being combined into the Paralympic Flame. The orchestra was conducted by guest conductor Clarence Adoo and played a wide variety of pieces, including a new commission 'Paraflame' from Andy Jackson, to an audience of over 3000 people.
